Up and Coming Stars that We’re Very Excited to See More Of

While we love seeing our favorite superstars and seasoned veterans on screen, we also love seeing new faces from time to time. It’s even more exciting when these new faces have the potential to become the next generation’s superstars. It tends to feel like you’re seeing them grow as if you’re watching their journey towards reaching their dreams.

Even though going to the movie theaters has gotten quite expensive in recent years (read more here about that), it is still a unique and magical experience to watch the latest releases on the large IMAX screens in the loungers and eating freshly-popped butter popcorn.

Who are the most buzzed-about rising film stars today, you might be wondering? Here are some that you might just continue to see in the years to come:

1. Brie Larson

Brie Larson is not exactly a fresh face but her breakout role in the blockbuster hit Captain Marvel still definitely gives her a rising star badge. She already starred in more than 60 TV shows and movies so she’s pretty much a veteran. Even if she has already even won an Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG, and a British Academy Film Award from her performance in Room, we’re still counting her here because lots of people are still looking forward to seeing more of her.

What’s even more exciting about Brie is that she does a wide range of different types of films. She’s even a filmmaker herself so we’ll really see lots more of her in the future. It was announced that she’ll also be in Captain Marvel II, so we’re very excited about that.

2. Tessa Thompson

Another fantastic lady from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we can’t wait to see more of is Tessa Thompson. Best known for her role as Valkyrie in Thor and Kari Peterson in Mississippi Damned, we’re very much looking forward to seeing her in the new Men In Black as Agent M as well as in her other projects including Sylvie’s Love, Passing, and Thor: Love and Thunder.

3. Timothee Chalamet

After his breakout role in Call Me By Your Name, Timothee Chalamet easily and effortlessly slid into Hollywood’s A-list. Why not when he’s already Oscar-nominated for his first major role? He’s been seen partying with the biggest names at the hippest parties, making him one of the hottest rising stars today.

Where will you see him next? He’s a part of the powerhouse cast of the Dune remake and will be a part of the new version of Little Women. In addition, he was also cast in The French Dispatch and will be playing Elio in Find Me.

4. Natalia Reyes

While Hollywood hasn’t really seen much of Natalia Reyes yet since her first starring role is in the upcoming Terminator movie, critics are still looking forward to knowing the actress better. Why not when she’s already a big name in her native Colombia? With a few telenovelas under her belt and being the star of the buzzed-about Cannes Film Festival entry Birds of Passage, you can say that lots of people are very curious about this Latina actress. She will also be playing La Reina in Sumergible.

The Cast of Stranger Things

The kids of Hawkins, Indiana have been branching out since the series garnered a lot of attention and fanfare. One of the leads in the cast, Millie Bobbie Brown, has bagged starring roles in big-budget films like the latest iterations of Godzilla.

Finn Wolfhard is also making a lot of buzz after getting cast on several upcoming films. Aside from being a part of the hit horror film It which he’ll also do the sequel of, he’ll also star in the highly anticipated The Goldfinch and The Turning.

1. Yara Shahidi

The fact that Yara Shahidi scored her very own spin-off show, Grown-ish, from her stellar performance in Black-ish, says a whole lot about this young actress’ star power. Her talent doesn’t really come as a surprise since she came from a family of artists and creatives. But what blows a lot of people away more about Shahidi is that she’s passionate not just about acting.

Aside from her impressive rise to fame, she also got herself into Harvard University and heads the Eighteenx18 campaign that works on encouraging young people to vote and participate in politics.

2. Letitia Wright

Anyone who’s into the biggest titles in pop culture wouldn’t miss the newcomer Letitia Wright. Aside from starring in Black Mirror, she really stole people’s hearts as Princess Shuri in Black Panther. She’ll continue to be a part of the MCU and will also appear in the 2024 remake of the classic Death on the Nile. She is also currently filming the mini-series Small Axe where she will be playing Altheia Jones.

3. Daniel Keluuya

Another Black Panther alum, Daniel Keluuya is another name that a lot of people are looking forward to seeing more of this year. He absolutely shook viewers with his performance in Get Out that everyone now wants more. You don’t have to wait long, though, as he has a few movies slated to come out very soon including A Christmas Carol and Jesus Was My Homeboy.

Although he doesn’t have any upcoming horror movies yet, we are hoping he will be cast in another where he can perform just as well as he did in Get Out.

4. Alex Lawther

Best known for his memorable roles in End of the F***ing World and Black Mirror, Alex Lawther is another exciting young star to look forward to. He has definitely proven his acting range with his previous projects but his future ones will also tell you that there’s more of him to see. You’ll most likely enjoy his performance next in the upcoming thriller The Translators.

In addition, you will also be able to see him in Miss Fortunate as Jack and in The French Dispatch.
